This project was created as an assignment at the University of Idaho.
We were given the taske of creating a press package and promotional tools for the hypothetical guest lecture of a designer of our choice; the designs were supposed to in some way mimic the style of that artist.
I chose the young UK designer, Olly Moss, who is most famous for his re-imaginings of the movie posters for the original Star Wars trilogy (below). In those, he uses monochromatic colors to create the environment of the primary location of each movie, masked to the shape of a character from each of those movies.
In my work, I used famous University of Idaho landmarks (Administration Building, Kibbie Dome, Idaho watertower), derivitives of the offical Vandals athletics color scheme, and the sillhouette of Olly Moss himself. I created a full-size poster adorned with the official University Speaker Series logos, a postcard, an email blast, and a VIP badge for the event.
